Meeting report- Nottingham 17/07/2011

Picture
Well, considering the amount of rain we had had in the days amounting to the meeting we questioned weather it was even going to be on! We traveled two and a half hours to get there, i was feeling rather ambitious about what i wanted to achieve in the days racing, i went out in the open at the beginning in the knowledge that it was wet... and to say wet was an understatement, i had a good start but i changed gear on a extremely wet patch and it just spun up which put me just behind another junior special, two corners in coming sideways out of the corner i was filled in by the special in front and by the time i'd pulled my roll-offs i was into the armco! After being craned off the track and further inspection we found it had broke my drive shaft, tie bar, tie bar bracket and bent the rear bottom arm mount. So that was the end of the racing for my day!

How i got on- Cambridge EOC Round 1- 26/06/2011

This meeting, alike to most so far this season certainly had it's upsides and downsides... one of the major downsides was the weather, IT WAS TO GOOD! it got so hot that mum gave me a ice pack while i was in the car to keep me cool. The first race left me in good stead and a happy mood for the rest of the day with a solid close second place! The second race went equally as well with me actually gaining a second place but returning to the pits to find i had been issued a green flag for hitting cones when i had only actually hit one ( multiple times) as i flicked it onto the racing line and wasn't slowing for it! In the final i struggled rather alot as the other drivers had the inside off the line and i was starting on the outside so i was pushed out onto the wetter, rougher part of the track and ended up finishing third. Towards the end of the day i decided to give the junior open race a go, it's for both the junior saloons and specials and is started on a stagger, all was going well until i hit a rut sideways going round the pits corner and popped off my outside tyre leaving me "limping" to the pits! Anyway, thank you for taking a look at my page, i will be updating as often as i have time to with any valuable and interesting information
thanks, JOSH
